2019 HABA AGM

Posted October 14, 2019

Our AGM is a great chance for us to check in with our members, in person, to see what your experience of being a HABA member is like, what we can do to contribute and add more value to your business and what you believe are the biggest challenges facing our industry. Our HABA AGM will be held this November 18th and we encourage all our members to come along and contribute to the conversation.

We use our AGM as a chance to find out how we can continue to act in salon owners best interest as a voice within the industry and help drive serious change that affects every salon owner in Australia. We also recently announced our annual HABA Members Survey and we do encourage you to fill in your responses to these questions too. However, feedback to YOUR organisation doesn’t have to stop there.

This year, we are pleased to be welcoming new members to the Board of Directors. As a not-for-profit organisation, HABA is required to have a Board of Directors who oversee decisions made by the organisation and advise on priorities for the organisation. This gives salon owners with a wealth of experience in the hair and beauty industry the opportunity to contribute to changes and the evolution of the industry and be at the forefront of changes that will affect salon owners, apprentices and businesses as a whole. It is a position of great responsibility but one where YOU can truly make a difference to our industry.

If you are interested in being on the Board of Directors for HABA, we encourage all members to nominate themselves for a position on the board and contribute their knowledge and experience to create change within the hair and beauty industry.  If you are a financial member of HABA, you can nominate yourself or be nominated for the HABA Board of Directors, allowing you to directly advise HABA on current issues for salon owners in the hair and beauty industry. All you have to do is complete the Nomination Form here and lodge it:

  • By Post: to Kelly Brignall, Returning Officer, AEC, PO BOX 496, HAYMARKET NSW 1240
  • By Hand: Returning Officer, AEC, Level 10, 59 Goulburn Street, HAYMARKET NSW 2000
  • By Fax: 02 6215 9910
  • By Email: A properly completed nomination form including all necessary signatures and attachments may be scanned and submitted as a pdf file to nswelections@aec.gov.au

You must also nominate a scrutineer, someone who will observe the voting and counting of the votes, when the election is held. This ensures that all nominees are heard and dealt with equally, so it’s important you choose another trustworthy and dedicated person to act on your behalf.

If you have the time to dedicate to being a part of the Hair & Beauty Australia Board of Directors, and a real passion and desire to give back to and facilitate change in the hair and beauty industry, we really encourage you to nominate yourself to be a member of the board. We look forward to receiving your application.
