As most of our members are now aware, the HABA AGM is quickly approaching, being held on the 30^th of October 2017 at the Commonwealth Bank Level 19 201 Sussex Street, Sydney from 6:30 pm. Come along to the AGM and have your chance to contribute to the future of the hair and beauty industry.

 

Nominations for roles on the board of Hair & Beauty Australia are now open and we encourage all members to put their hand up and say that they are willing to contribute their knowledge and experience to create change within the hair and beauty industry.  If you are a financial member of HABA, you can nominate yourself or be nominated for the HABA Board of Directors, allowing you to directly advise HABA on current issues for salon owners in the hair and beauty industry.

 

As a not-for-profit organisation, HABA is required to have a Board of Directors who oversee decisions made by the organisation and advise on priorities for the organisation. This gives experts in the hair and beauty industry with a wealth of experience the opportunity to give back to the industry and contribute to changes in the industry that will best affect salon owners, apprentices and businesses as a whole. It is a position of great responsibility, but one where you can truly make a difference to our industry.

 

Hair & Beauty Australia is YOUR organisation. As members of HABA, you have an amazing opportunity to affect change in the hair and beauty industry, from legislation to regulation and even changes within the Fair Work Ombudsmen. Being a part of the HABA Board of Directors is a great way to give back to the industry and have your voice heard as you help HABA progress the hair and beauty industry into the future.

 

If you have the time to dedicate to being a part of the Hair & Beauty Australia Board of Directors, and a real passion and desire to give back to and facilitate change in the hair and beauty industry, we really encourage you to nominate yourself to be a member of the board.

 

Please look out in your mailboxes in the coming weeks for a letter from the AEC, who conducts this election which Fair work Australia oversee’s in accordance with the rules in our constitution. A copy of the constitution can be found in the HABA Members Library, accessed by logging into the HABA Members Area of our website. This is also where you will find the financials for the association 2016/2017 displayed for members only. We look forward each year to meeting our members in person and sharing with you all the visions the association is striving to map out for the Industry.
